Planimetric mapping is the digitization of surface features which are overlaid a digital orthoimage. Surdex is thoroughly versed in providing feature extraction from aerial imagery. Having provided these services throughout the company’s history, we understand the timing, workflow processes and effort required to create these feature databases.
Update mapping (change detection) can be accomplished utilizing existing planimetric mapping data overlaid on the newly acquired imagery. Surdex has determined that the most efficient and reliable source of change detection is the highly skilled stereo compilation technician. All extraction will be performed following the completion of the orthoimagery.
